Death notice of our dearest sister Germaine Blais

Sister Germaine Blais, O.P.  (1930- 2024)

Sister Germaine Blais, 93 years and 7 months old, died at the General House of the Sisters of Charity of Quebec on June 16, 2024, after 69 years and 4 months of Religious Profession. She was a member of the congregation of the Dominican Missionary Adorers. Born November 7, 1930, in Port-Daniel-Est (Bonaventure), she was the daughter of the late Herméline Roussy and of the late Frédéric Blais.

In addition to her religious family, Sister Germaine is survived by her sisters-in-law Gladys Fillinger and Marie Roussy, and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sister Germaine joined her sisters Ernestine and sister Jeanne-Paule in the Father's House, as well as her brothers: Oscar (Gladys Fillinger), Joseph (the late Angéline Parise), Arthur (Marie Roussy) and Jean-Marie.

The Dominican Missionary Sisters Adorers and members of the family will receive condolences at the Wilbrod Robert Memorial Centre, 738, avenue Royale, Québec (Beauport), G1E 1Z4, on Thursday, June 27, from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, June 28, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held that same day, June 28, at 11 a.m., in the Sainte-Gertrude church in Beauport, 779, av. de l'Éducation, Québec, G1E 1J2. Interment will follow at La Nativité de Notre-Dame Cemetery (2nd), rue Wilbrod Robert, Québec, G1C 8A3.
