Comas, Peru

The Dominican Missionary Adorers arrived in this area of Lima’s suburbs in 1962.

At present, we work in the parish Virgen del Carmen (Our Lady of Mount Carmel), situated in the Diocese of Carabayllo.

Since our primary vocation is to make known and loved the love of Jesus as He gives Himself in the Eucharist, it is through concrete actions that have been modified as the years went by that we now work.

The library of Santo Domingo de Guzman (Saint Dominic of Guzman), which is situated in our house, welcomes young people who wish to study and consult the books they need for their school work, especially in catechesis and on questions of faith:

  • Work in the college Fe de María (Faith of Mary), which was founded by one of our sisters:

  •  catechesis and direction of school pastoral services;

  • and coordination at pre-school level;
  • Parish pastoral services at various levels:
  • direction and formation of Confirmation catechists;

  • accompanying a group of the Legion of Mary and one of extraordinary ministers of communion;
  • animation services for the movement called “Cenacles for Young People”, which offer to them periods of time to deepen their faith and opens them up to a life animated by the Eucharist.
  • collaboration with the other DMA Sisters of Peru in experiences of evangelisation and other group activities in different localities.
  • In our chapel, at the beginning of each day, those who wish to join us for a period of adoration may do so.
