25th Anniversary Celebration of the Eucharistic Families

On September 30, 2017, the Eucharistic Families celebrated their 25th anniversary. Already 25 years since the beginning of the group! The day began with the theme: "25 years of Love, From our Roots to Today".

A beautiful tree with its roots as a representation of our theme, our origins and our values welcomed us upon our arrival. This poster was drawn by Jean-François Bouchard. During the event, we had the opportunity to see former members and share memories from the past.

An icebreaker activity was organized. Questions and answers about the history of the Eucharistic Families were written on papers and handed out to everyone so that the participants could be matched together.

Subsequently, a Eucharistic Celebration in the chapel was presided by Bishop Louis Corriveau with singing by the sisters; a very moving moment with the expression of the testimonials and thankgiving for this 25th Anniversary.

Then a delicious supper was served; games of associations and riddles enhanced its progress. The couples in charge unveiled the new theme for 2017-2018 and handed out bookmarks of the theme.

Singing was important throughout the day. Sister Madeleine Dubé composed a song for the 25th anniversary and we sang it several times. After that, many expressions of gratitude were presented and the Eucharistic Families offered the Community a fruit tree that will be planted in front of the convent to commemorate our 25 years.

The evening continued with a quiz entitled "Pass on to the next one" led by Carole St-Onge. Several people participated answering different questions. They could win a prize by choosing a suitcase number that sisters of the community were holding. The awards were presented by a gracious hostess. We had a lot of fun with this game.

The day ended with a meditation at the tomb of Mother Julienne. The organizing committee gave the couples a little pot blessed by Bishop Corriveau containing messages from Mother Julienne. These will help us continue our journey of prayer. We hope that the movement of the Eucharistic Families will live on for a long time. What a beautiful day!

Mission accomplished.
